Coros Pace 4 vs Suunto Run 2
Both now reach the same training tier with dual-band GPS and offline maps, but the Pace 4 costs $150 less, rates higher, and nearly doubles the Run 2's GPS battery life, a tough case for Suunto to make on specs alone.

- •You want Coros's best-reviewed budget watch with more battery life for less money
- •You don't have a specific reason to prefer Suunto's ecosystem
- •You're drawn to Suunto's app and design specifically
- •A few grams lighter on the wrist matters more to you than the price and battery gap
At 40 grams with a bright AMOLED screen, dual-band GPS, and 41 hours of GPS battery, the Pace 4 punches well above its $249 price. A recent firmware update added offline maps, closing the biggest gap between it and pricier watches, while it still skips deep smartwatch extras to stay focused on being an excellent, lightweight training tool.
The Run 2 fixes the two biggest complaints about the original Run: a screen that washed out in direct sun and zero offline mapping. It now hits 2,000 nits, adds free worldwide offline maps standard, and swaps in a redesigned 12-channel heart rate sensor and Suunto's newest dual-band GNSS chip. A Marathon Mode with Ghost Runner pacing tool rounds out a genuinely useful jump for a watch that's still just 35 grams on the wrist.
