Suunto Run vs Suunto Run 2
This isn't a small refresh: Run 2 jumps from basics to training-tier analytics, adds dual-band GPS and real offline maps the original never had, and triples in price as a result, from $199 to $399.

SuuntoSuunto Run 2
- •You want the cheapest legitimate Suunto and don't need maps or training-tier data
- •You can find the original discounted now that Run 2 has replaced it
- •You want real offline maps, dual-band GPS, and training-tier analytics
- •The jump to $399 is worth it for a genuinely different tier of watch
Suunto Run strips away the brand's usual rugged bulk in favor of a soft strap and a genuinely light build. It's a straightforward, no-frills GPS running watch for people who found Suunto's other watches too much wrist.
The Run 2 fixes the two biggest complaints about the original Run: a screen that washed out in direct sun and zero offline mapping. It now hits 2,000 nits, adds free worldwide offline maps standard, and swaps in a redesigned 12-channel heart rate sensor and Suunto's newest dual-band GNSS chip. A Marathon Mode with Ghost Runner pacing tool rounds out a genuinely useful jump for a watch that's still just 35 grams on the wrist.
