Garmin Forerunner 570 vs Suunto Run 2
The 570 costs $150 more and adds wrist calls, but Run 2 actually counters with something Garmin's watch doesn't have at any price in this pairing: real offline maps, plus more GPS battery life.

- •Wrist calls and a voice assistant matter to your daily routine
- •You want Garmin's established ecosystem and higher rating
- •You want real offline maps and don't need wrist calls
- •$150 less and more GPS battery life make a real case here
The 570 layers a speaker, microphone, and voice assistant onto Garmin's mid-range running watch, closing some of the gap with true smartwatches. It's a genuinely nice watch, just priced close enough to the 970 that it's worth comparing both before buying.
The Run 2 fixes the two biggest complaints about the original Run: a screen that washed out in direct sun and zero offline mapping. It now hits 2,000 nits, adds free worldwide offline maps standard, and swaps in a redesigned 12-channel heart rate sensor and Suunto's newest dual-band GNSS chip. A Marathon Mode with Ghost Runner pacing tool rounds out a genuinely useful jump for a watch that's still just 35 grams on the wrist.
