Coros Nomad vs Garmin Instinct 3
The Nomad is the more capable watch on paper, with full offline maps, a speaker, and a touchscreen, all for $50 less. The Instinct 3 counters with 10 ATM water resistance, solar charging, a built-in flashlight, and Garmin's ecosystem, and it has no offline maps at all.

- •You want offline maps and a speaker at a lower price
- •A touchscreen alongside buttons matters to you
- •You want Garmin's ecosystem, solar charging, and a flashlight
- •10 ATM water resistance and a buttons-only design matter more than maps
The Nomad is Coros's adventure watch: a rugged plastic-and-aluminum case in the style of a Garmin Instinct, a sunlight-friendly memory-in-pixel touchscreen, and global offline maps with trail and street names, which the Instinct 3 doesn't have. It adds dual-frequency GPS, ECG, a speaker for hands-free calls, and voice notes that feed an Adventure Journal, with 22 days of daily use and 34 hours of dual-frequency GPS. It skips NFC payments, a flashlight, and streaming music, and the MIP screen is less vivid than the AMOLED on Coros's Pace line.
The Instinct 3 trades the AMOLED glow for a screen that's easy to read in direct sun and a case that shrugs off drops. Solid running metrics without the smartwatch bloat, for runners who care more about durability than notifications.
