Amazfit Balance Ultra vs Garmin Fenix 8
The Balance Ultra costs $400 less and has more GPS runtime on paper (50 hours versus 40) in a case 16 grams lighter, with the same offline maps, dual-band GPS, and 10 ATM rating. The Fenix 8 adds ECG, streaming music sync, max-tier analytics, and Garmin's ecosystem.

GarminGarmin Fenix 8
- •You want flagship-style hardware and battery for $400 less
- •You can live without ECG and streaming music
- •You want Garmin's ecosystem and deepest analytics
- •ECG and streaming music matter to you
The Balance Ultra tops Amazfit's Balance line with a Grade 5 titanium case and buttons, a fifth button, a 780mAh battery, and a larger 51.8mm case. Battery life stretches to about 30 days of typical use and 50 hours of accurate-mode GPS, versus 21 days and 41 hours on the Balance 3. Everything else carries over, including the sapphire AMOLED, dual-band GPS, offline maps, and a speaker for calls. It costs $230 more than the Balance 3, so it's really for people who want the extra endurance.
The Fenix 8 folds the old Epix line into Garmin's toughest case, adding a speaker and mic for calls plus genuine smartwatch-level interactivity. It's an outdoor watch first, but the running analytics underneath are as good as Garmin gets.
