Garmin Fenix 8 vs Garmin Fenix 8 Pro

The Pro is functionally the Fenix 8 plus satellite messaging hardware, a real feature for being truly off-grid, but a $200 answer to a fairly specific problem.

The Full Story

The Fenix 8 folds the old Epix line into Garmin's toughest case, adding a speaker and mic for calls plus genuine smartwatch-level interactivity. It's an outdoor watch first, but the running analytics underneath are as good as Garmin gets.

The Pro adds satellite communication hardware on top of an already excellent Fenix 8, aimed squarely at runners and adventurers who spend serious time outside cell coverage. It's an expensive answer to a specific problem, so make sure you actually have that problem first.
