Suunto 9 Peak Pro vs Suunto Race 2
Both are training-tier Suunto watches with offline maps, but the Race 2 costs $50 less, rates higher, and adds 15 more hours of GPS runtime than the 9 Peak Pro's 40, thanks to a full hardware generation gap.

SuuntoSuunto Race 2
- •You already own 9 Peak Pro accessories or prefer its titanium bezel design
- •The older hardware generation doesn't bother you
- •You want Suunto's newest, higher-rated watch for less money
- •Longer GPS battery life and a brighter AMOLED display matter to you
The 9 Peak Pro packs a sapphire touchscreen, stainless steel bezel, and 40 hours of best-mode GPS battery into an unusually thin, light case. Superseded by the Suunto Race S, but still a legitimate multisport option for runners who don't want a bulky watch on the wrist.
The Race 2 jumps to a 2,000-nit, 120Hz AMOLED display and stretches dual-band GPS battery life to 55 hours, all in a thinner, lighter case available in steel or titanium. New AI Coach guidance, Training Stress Score, and a unified Recovery Score bring Suunto's training smarts much closer to Garmin's, without losing the lightweight, racing-first feel the Race series built its name on.
