- •You want Coros's higher-battery-life titanium watch for half the price
- •Training-tier analytics already cover your needs
- •You want Garmin's max-tier analytics and best-in-class display quality
- •$500 more is worth it for the flagship build and calling features
Same titanium-and-sapphire build as the Apex 2, but with 66 hours of GPS battery life, offline maps, WiFi, and 32GB of storage. Coros pitched it as a smaller, cheaper Vertix 2, and most of that positioning still holds even with the Apex 4 now above it.
The Fenix 8 folds the old Epix line into Garmin's toughest case, adding a speaker and mic for calls plus genuine smartwatch-level interactivity. It's an outdoor watch first, but the running analytics underneath are as good as Garmin gets.
