Head to Head

Garmin Venu 4 vs Garmin Vivoactive 6

Both share Garmin's training-tier analytics and current-gen hardware, but the Venu 4 costs $250 more for a built-in flashlight, speaker and mic for wrist calls, and an ECG-capable sensor, while the Vivoactive 6 sticks to Garmin's lighter, simpler lifestyle formula.

The Full Story

Combining a brilliant AMOLED touchscreen display with multi-band GPS and a dedicated multi-LED flashlight, the Venu 4 bridges the gap between daily lifestyle smartwatch and serious sports tracker. It adds long-requested training readiness metrics, speaker/mic support, and an Elevate Gen 5 HR sensor with ECG capabilities—all wrapped in a durable metal case.

The Vivoactive 6 keeps the 5's AMOLED display, 11-day battery, and Body Battery energy tracking, then adds a magnetic compass, gyroscope, PacePro guided pacing, and running power at the same $299 price point. It still skips Training Readiness and a speaker for calls, so serious runners will outgrow it, but it's a clear upgrade over the 5 for anyone shopping new.
