Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar vs Garmin Fenix 9 Pro Solar

GarminGarmin Fenix 9 Pro Solar
- •You can find the 7 Pro Solar well discounted as an older generation
- •You don't need the newest software features or a titanium case
- •You want Garmin's current flagship hardware and software, not a two-generation-old model
- •Titanium build quality and doubled storage are worth $200 to you
One generation behind the Fenix 8, the 7 Pro Solar keeps a button-only, no-touch interface and adds solar charging for genuinely excellent battery life. If you want Garmin's deepest training analytics but have no interest in a touchscreen or smartwatch calling, this is the one to buy, often at a real discount versus the current flagship.
Announced August 25, 2026, the Fenix 9 Pro Solar swaps the Fenix 9 Pro's bright AMOLED screen for a transflective MIP display ringed with solar cells, stretching battery life to roughly 57 days in normal use and up to 291 days in battery saver with steady sunlight. Everything else, titanium case, 64GB storage, Elevate 5 sensor with ECG, speaker and mic, and optional inReach, carries over from the AMOLED Pro.
*Estimated — this model's exact GPS battery life isn't published by the manufacturer. All figures are standard GPS mode, midsize case, no solar boost.
†Estimated — this model launched too recently to have an established customer rating yet.
