Head to Head

Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra vs Garmin Enduro 4

Both carry a max analytics tier and are built for ultras and mountain running. The Cheetah 2 Ultra is $300 cheaper, a touch smaller at 48mm, and adds a bright AMOLED screen with a speaker and mic for wrist calls. The Enduro 4 runs longer on GPS (80 hours versus 60) and adds ECG, streaming music sync, and Garmin's ecosystem. The Cheetah's 4.0 rating also points to more mixed owner experiences, which matters on gear you'll depend on deep into a race.

The Full Story

The Cheetah 2 Ultra targets mountain ultrarunners specifically, with a bigger screen for reading maps and enough battery to cover long efforts without a mid-race charge. A legitimate alternative to Garmin's Enduro or Suunto's Vertical, at a lower price.

The Enduro 4 keeps the solar MIP screen and multi-week battery that made the Enduro line the default for ultra runners, then doubles storage to 64GB and adds grade-adjusted pace workouts, a pack weight setting for rucking, stamina zones, and Garmin Epic for logging multi-day efforts as one activity. Like the Enduro 3, it skips the speaker and mic, so there are no wrist calls, but if your races are measured in hours or days, this is the watch built for them.

*Estimated — this model's exact GPS battery life isn't published by the manufacturer. All figures are standard GPS mode, midsize case, no solar boost.

†Estimated — this model launched too recently to have an established customer rating yet.
