Polar Ignite 3 vs Polar Pacer
The Ignite 3 costs $30 more for dual-frequency GPS, training-tier analytics, and a physical button alongside the touchscreen. GPS battery is roughly half the Pacer's (18 hours versus 35), and its 3 ATM water resistance is lower than the Pacer's 5 ATM.
PolarPolar Ignite 3
PolarPolar Pacer
- •You want dual-frequency GPS and Polar's daily workout guidance
- •A light 35-gram watch matters to you
- •You need longer GPS battery and better water resistance
- •You want the cheaper Polar for straightforward running
The Ignite 3 is Polar's fitness and wellness watch, with a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen, dual-frequency GPS, and Polar's FitSpark daily workout guidance and SleepWise recovery data. At 35 grams with the strap it's the lightest watch in Polar's current range. It has no barometer, compass, ECG, or maps, only 3 ATM water resistance, and GPS battery life is short at about 18 hours in performance mode, so it suits everyday runners more than long-distance racers.
The Pacer keeps things simple: accurate GPS, heart rate, and Polar's excellent recovery insights, without the extras that drive up the price elsewhere in the lineup. A great first real running watch.
