Coros Apex 4 vs Garmin Fenix 9
Coros hits max-tier analytics for significantly less money, but the Fenix 9 justifies its flagship price tag with a 3,000-nit AMOLED screen, speaker/mic calls, built-in flashlight, and far higher reviewer satisfaction.

GarminGarmin Fenix 9
- •You want max-tier training data and trail tracking at a fraction of flagship pricing
- •Smartwatch features like speaker, mic, and ultra-bright AMOLED screens aren't important to you
- •You want Garmin's top build quality, ultra-bright 3,000-nit display, and built-in LED flashlight
- •You want full smartwatch integration, wrist calls, and the higher-rated ecosystem
The Apex 4 delivers much of what a Fenix 8 or Forerunner 970 offers for training depth and durability, at a noticeably lower price. Smart features are minimal by design, but the core running and trail tracking is excellent.
The Fenix 9 pushes display brightness to 3,000 nits while slimming down the overall profile with a full titanium bezel and rear cover. Adding 64GB of storage, 3D topo mapping, and dedicated rucking and endurance stamina metrics, it sits right at the top of Garmin's multi-sport lineup.
